What are you reading or listening to today?
I am almost finished with Lisa Unger’s Ink and Bone—an engaging thriller set in an area not unlike the part of the Hudson Valley where I recently moved. Next on my list is the newest installment in the Inspector Gamache series A Great Reckoning. Louise Penny is an amazing writer with a gift of creating a strong sense of place.

What’s the best part of your work day?
The best part of my day is early in the morning when I first get to work. The quiet allows me to plan my day and put everything into perspective.

What are you most excited about right now (library-related or otherwise)?
I am excited about every aspect of my new position—I’ve been at Marist about a month. The librarians and staff here are an amazing group of people who are truly committed to the students and the College. I also have the opportunity to meet new people and learn something interesting every day. What else could be more exciting! Oh, and I’m excited to read the new Louise Penny novel too!

How has your membership in CLS helped you?
Having worked primarily in large universities throughout my career, I was not as familiar with the college library environment. During the past four years, my membership in CLS has provided a group of colleagues who work in similar environments, face similar challenges, and are so willing to share their experiences. Discussing issues face-to-face at ALA–in meetings and discussion groups–and engaging via the collib-l listserv are how I have been able most effectively to leverage my CLS membership.
